In the last several sessions you have gathered a lot of
information about who you are and how to explore career
choices. But what should you do with this information?
You're now ready to discover some of the tools that are
available to make your career what you want it to be. These
tools include learning how to make decisions, how to set
goals and timelines and how to plan for resources such as
money, education and a support system. Successful people set goals, develop plans, establish
deadlines and list priorities. It is not a surprise that
these are some of the same tactics that you need to do well
once you enter the workforce. Employers want to hire
employees that know how to set goals. The most common
reason that people dont achieve their goals is that
they never set them in the first place. We can start by setting
small, manageable goals and as we gain confidence
increase the size and importance of the goals. When goal-
